I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Maybe it's true. As we get older, we appreciate the adventure we call "life" a little more. My life has many recent changes. Some are definitely good changes, and some are not so good. I've lost another loved one. He wasn't a brother, sister, or other relative, but he was my best friend. My Zues will be missed. He was my beloved German Shepard. We shared so many memories, most involved a little squeaky ball in his mouth or by his side as he patiently waited for me to say "ball". He left me suddenly, tears were shed. Goodbye my Zues.
Now, back to the Christmas feeling. I was blessed with amazing Christmas memories all my life. It is a magical time. And, since I'm still a kid at heart (ask anyone that knows me) Christmas still makes me giddy. This upcoming trip gives me that Christmas morning giddiness every time I think about it. Lately, I've been trying to live my life with some fun things, good things, things that make me smile. This trip evolved from a desire to see the Grand Canyon, to a flight across the country to the West Coast, followed my a road trip East on an old highway driven by so many, over so many years. Take it from someone who always worries about getting things done around the house, taking care of chores, and worries about the next day before this day is anywhere near done.
Live your life! Find those things that bring you joy! Share them with the ones you love! Do it NOW, not tomorrow, because tomorrow isn't promised. Don't neglect your responsibilities, but remember to get the most out of today.
I haven't talked about oldrt66trip very much have I? Darn, maybe I'm not good at this blog stuff. Just 5 more mornings. On morning #5, Dee and I will begin our adventure. I am blessed. It will truly be "Christmas in July".
